Life-long Learning

I love to learn.  In fact, I’d probably go so far as to say I’m a life long learner, which is something that we psychologists are supposed to be.  As a result, I want to share with you some things that I’ve been learning and to let you know about some opportunities where you can join me at training events.

If you’ve been following my practice for a while, you’ve probably noticed that I have been teaching a Bringing Baby Home workshop for new and prospective parents. Couples have an opportunity to learn skills to enhance their friendship and communication during the typically exciting (and stressful) time of becoming new parents.

Gottman Level 1 Clinical Training:  I am very excited about adding this to my teaching repertoire.  This is an outstanding training for a variety of health and mental health professionals. Along with extensive training, I’ve been mentored by Australian Gottman Master Trainer, Trish Purnell-Webb, participated in live virtual workshops, and was interviewed by the Clinical Director of the Gottman Institute.

My life-long learning includes Play Therapy, as well as additional training from the Gottman Institute. It is an exciting time be able to gather again with professionals in a common space to learn and grow.  I hope that you’ll find some time this spring to stretch yourself as well, either with one of our workshops or pursing special interests and passions that you love.

Get out and enjoy the green and the sunshine!  Happy April!
